Hydration for Heart Health

Hydration has a huge impact on your cardiovascular health. So dehydration will start to elevate, all of the risk factors for coronary heart disease. One of the ways that we can help to support optimal heart health is to hydrate well.

Ultimately, blood thickens when you're dehydrated. And then we have non optimal. It's not optimal for cardiovascular health. Drink up.

  • Muscles are just over 70% water

  • Our Brains are just over 70% water

  • Our Bones are approximately 22% water

  • Water is required for every single metabolic process in your body

  • 8-10 days without water and you most likely die.

  • 2002 Study with 20,000 participants, concluded that those with high daily intakes of water (5 glasses or more) had significantly lower risk for fatal coronary heart disease events than those who drank limited water

  • Blood thickens when you’re dehydrated - non-optimal heart health



How Much Water?


Aim to drink 2-3 litres of water everyday plus extra if it's a sweaty workout day.

If this isn't a normal water intake for you build it up gradually.
